The TLTC Conservation Foundation is a joint initiative by leading travel companies including AAT Kings, Brendan Worldwide Vacations, Busabout, Contiki Holidays, Eastern Trekker, Evan Evans Tours, Grand European Tours, Haggis Adventures, Insight Vacations, Milestones, Shamrocker Adventures, Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection and Trafalgar Tours.
Already, The Leading Travel Companies have helped Conservation International to protect three million hectares of Atlantic Forest in Brazil, an area of unmatched importance to protect the planets biological diversity, supported WWF to help establish the first sustainable tourism project wholly managed by the area’s indigenous communities and funded research and restoration in Venice to help protect the city from degradation.
This includes the Foundation’s support for the Venice in Peril charity which funds the restoration of the Monument to Canova, in the Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari Church where the famous sculptor’s heart was interred upon his death. This monumental building is one of the city’s three great Gothic churches and contains some of the finest art treasures in Venice.
The Foundation is also a primary sponsor for the Tourism for Tomorrow Awards which encourages tourism operators to develop and share leading sustainable tourism practices.
